Wave-up and some Google I/O goodies!

Google I/O

If you haven’t heard yet wave.to are participating in the Google I/O bootcamp and sandbox next week. To coincide with Google I/O we are delighted to announce our Google I/O pages. If you are visiting Google I/O then this is your one stop page for all things wave.to, and if you’re not there’s a lot of useful information there and some new projects that we are working on so it is definitely worth checking out!

wave.to Q&A

Over the course of the next few weeks we are holding a public discussion on Wave and Mr-Ray public where you can ask us anything about the projects that we are working on. Even if you’re not visiting Google I/O we encourage you to get involved!

Wave-up

Finally we would like to announce our new service, Wave-up. If you are a Google Wave user you may know that Google Wave on mobile devices suffers from long loading times or browser crashes. Wave-up notifies you to any changes made to a Wave and gives you the ability to view and reply to it right from your android phone. You can find out all the details about Wave-up including screenshots and a demo video on the Google I/O Wave-up page. Wave-up will be made available for download shortly before Google I/O.

Check out the video below!

Google I/O

Google I/O is Google’s largest developer event held in San Francisco every year and wave.to have been invited to participate in the Developer Sandbox. The wave.to team will be showcasing some of our services including Mr-Ray, CRM integration and some new cutting edge products that we are still working on.

This is a great opportunity for us to meet other Wave developers and also for you to meet us. So if you have tickets for Google I/O stop by at the wave.to stand, say hi and have a play around with our exhibition! We will be posting full details about our attendance at Google I/O over the coming weeks so stay tuned!

Mr-Ray wins Mashables Google Wave API Challenge!

At the beginning of March Mashable launched a Google Wave API Challenge. The challenge was to create an extension for Google Wave using their new API. There were to be 3 voting categories, Most Fun, Most Useful and Best Use of the Embed API. Then one extension would be picked by a judge as an overall winner.

The winners in the peoples choice categories are Texas Holdem Poker for “Most Fun”, Wave Transformer for “Most Useful” and Resourcy for “Best Use of the Embed API”. Finally we are very proud to announce that the overall winning extension chosen by a judge is… Mr-Ray! Mr-Ray allows you to communicate with people still using e-mail from within Google Wave in an almost seamless way. If you haven’t already you should try him out!

For full details on all the entries and winners you should visit Mashables site.

Thanks to everyone who voted for Mr-Ray!

In other news a small update on the previous post. All robots and gadgets are working fine besides the following two…

  • Rssybot - Still downloads feeds, but never updates them. There is also an issue with the way data is stored meaning that when I make any updates/changes to the robot all feeds are lost along with all subscriptions.
  • Wave Live Messenger - Doesn’t display update blips. This is an issue on Google’s end. You can still use the robot you just have to keep clicking refresh blindly guessing when an update may be ready.
